They where lucky that they used seat belts at that moment. Here is the story: My best two friends own Z32. “U” ownes ‘90TT and “M” owns ‘93NA(now gone). Anyway “M” just upgraded his ‘93NA to stage 3 and wanted to go to Saturday night illegal drags here in west Phoenix. “M” even borrowed rear wheels from his bro’s ‘2k Mustang gt for better traction, those mustang rims looked nice on Z. “U” wanted to drive NA to the drags this Saturday night. “M” agrees. Driving south bound on 51ave & Thomas (3 lane both way street) they encounter this supped up Trans AM formula. “U” teases trans am to race and they both punched it from 40mph. These guys are like “MikeH(inconzbb)” they “never” lose. According to them they where beating trans am by 3 cars, suddenly some car pulls from one of the streets right in front of both speeding cars 80mph+. Trans am was lucky and got trough, “U” had a choice of: Head on collision with other line traffic, head on collision with that car where he would have to hit in drivers door at 80mph, sidewalk and city park. “U” chose city park.
With front tires hitting the side walk at 80+mph the Z was lifted in the air, now airborne rear end hits the foot wide tree, that spins the Z around in the air and lands hard in the sand with driver’s side of Z, bounces off and rolls few times and rests at normal position. At that time in the air “M” in the passenger seat had car jack under his feet that they used to swap wheels from mustang he was pressing on it out of fear it will start bouncing of their heads. On the impact on the ground “U” has slammed his head against A pillar while CD player slid out of dash and smashed “M” in the face. Luckly they both walked away with minor injuries. “U” received two tickets from cops: Speeding and failure to avoid accident.
“M” is all depressed that his NA is gone. “U” feels like an looser that he wrecked his friend’s and that he could died.
